Price Insights, a handy little shopping tool, has just been introduced to Google, helping online shoppers find the best deals out there. It tracks and compares prices for online products.
The new feature lets shoppers select a product and sign up to be notified when there’s a price drop, but it also scours through the web on the spot to see if there are better prices listed anywhere else. It is a strategic move by Google against major competitors, like the app CamelCamelCamel, which shows average prices for Amazon products. Pickup notifications have been added to Price Insights too, showing which stores are letting customers pick up their products at counters or delivering to homes.
The new feature is currently available in select regions and will be gradually rolled out worldwide.
